The Yosemite Webcams – See how Half Dome is doing today

Should I plan to hike Half Dome this week? I often get questions on how the weather at Yosemite is. Looking out my belly-button window in San Jose-by-the-sea, it looks fine. Other than checking the park weather report, a very good source of information are the Yosemite Conservancy Webcams. YC funds the installation and maintenance of these cameras that take still photos about every 3 minutes. The one pointing at Yosemite Falls is video. Of course the falls are bone dry now, so it’s real boring.

A couple years ago, snipped a shot with a lightning bolt hitting the visor of Half Dome – about the same time a that woman was holding the electrified cables. She got zapped and fell to her death.

Bookmark this site to keep the webcams handy. I also have a direct link to the Yosemite weather report on my website. It’s on the right side low.
