Yosemite was pleasant today. Back to a nice small crowd. I could actually drive thru the valley in 20 minutes – not the 2 hours it took on the 3rd. Today was down at Hetch Hetchy. I haven’t done much hiking there and did not do so today either.
Was there with our German subsidiary and we all toured the dam and navigated the tunnel. They stil haven’t found the body of the hiker who drowned last week. The bridge at Wapama Falls is closed so no one can go near the accident site. Pretty gruesome. Reminds me of the ending of Deliverance. Where the hand pops up out of the reservoir.
Also, they have not found the man who is missing from Upper Yosemite Falls. Indications are that he may be lodged under a rock in the river flow up high. This one may have to wait until late summer to have closure.
Dinner is at the Mountain Room at the Yosemite Lodge. Very very nice. Kind of “pricey” (why don’t people say “expensive”?
Unrelated thought worth quoting: “Bottle of wine, fruit of the vine, when you gonna let me get sober. Let me alone. Let me go home. Let me back and start over.” – Kingston Trio
