The staff at Yosemite is busy going through their workflow milestones in the development of the new Merced River Plan. They have just released an element of the process called the Merced Wild and Scenic River Values Draft Baseline Condition Report. You, Mr & Mrs Citizen, can now review it and comment. The report compares research and information about the conditions of the Merced River values in 1987 (the year the river was designated Wild and Scenic) and 2010. Three tenants of Wild and Scenic River Act are: 1) the Free-flowing condition, 2) water quality, and 3) outstandingly remarkable values (ORVs). The on-line report and can be found <HERE>.
