Granite Oddities Part 2

Half Dome – Yosemite Musing
Freaks of Nature? Games being played by Aliens from Planet Mongo? Random Occurrences?? You decide. Blog Reader Dean sent me this blob of granite.

He says it was on the flats just before sub dome. Maybe it was a pluton that cooled into this odd shape.
Here’s another from my collection. Found them on the northwest slope of North Dome. How in the world did they get stacked so that one huge slab is propping up an even bigger one?? Honest – I didn’t do it.

Unrelated thought worth quoting: “How can you explain that you need to know that the trees are still there, and the hills and the sky?  Anyone knows they are.  How can you say it is time your pulse responded to another rhythm, the rhythm of the day and the season instead of the hour and the minute?  No, you cannot explain.  So you walk.” – Author unknown
