Half Dome: New times – New website & blog – Now mobile

Today I introduce a new Template from WordPress. This one is now “mobile friendly.” The Google Analytic’s team stopped “counting” sites that were not cell capable.

Mine looked OK on mobile, but this one is a bit crisper. I also dumped a few of the pages that didn’t get much traffic. I’ll still keep covering Yosemite – Half Dome hard core.

Yosey . . . As in Yosemite

So why do I do this? It takes abut 45 minutes to research a topic and write the blog.  I’m obsessed. No, that’s a negative term. It’s my passion. Ever since my first time up.  I wrote the book and have gone up 40 times. My ashes will be the last of me to summit this hike. My dog calls me Mr Half Dome. I love it. Ask me anything. I’ve read all the ancient scrolls.

Want a guided hike? – let me know. I work a tad with Lasting Adventures. the only non-profit Yosemite Guide service. Good guys. I’ll fill your cranium with history, geology and a few bars of some classic oldies.

A tip of the hat to those who comment: Maureen, Sonke, Dean, Reese, Perla Joe and all you guys out there.

Keep hiking and training…..Half Dome is calling and you must go.

Unrelated thought worth quoting: “Come along if you dare. Take a ride to the land inside of your mind. Beyond the seas of thought. Beyond the realm of what. Across the streams of hopes and dreams where things are really not.” – Amboy Dukes

Thanks for the info! Excellent blog post (as always). I will follow your instructions and check back vigilantly!

I’ve got a question. What’s the likelihood of the cables going up early this year? I know last year they went up a week ahead of time.

    • Bruck – Good question – Many wonder the same thing. There will be no announcement of early installation of the cables this early. They are scheduled to go up May 22. Mountain weather can change radically. In the next month we could get hit. There are thunderstorms heading in this week. The higher altitudes MAY get some snow. Half Dome is 9,000 ft.

Keep tabs thru the weather link on the right side of the blog. I’ll write a whole blog on this next.

      Rick
