Cathy Carrillo of Chino, CA has filed legal action asking $3.25 from Yosemite Park concessioner DNC Parks and Resorts at Yosemite. The first court date is a May 30 scheduling meeting at the United States District Court in Fresno. Ms Carrillo, 50, reportedly contracted hantavirus while staying in a “Signature” tent cabin in Curry Village while at the park in June of last year.

Carrillo was put into a medically induced coma from July 6 – 11. She needed a ventilator to breathe. She now has weak lung capacity, low energy, weakness in her left arm and thinning hair. She has hospital bills of nearly one million dollars. She is asking for $¾ million in special damages and $2.5M in general damages.

The 91 insulated tent cabins have been taken down and replaced with the standard canvas tent cabins like the rest of Curry Village.
