Yosemite’s Mist Trail calming down

For hikers heading up to Half Dome and points north and east, the Mist Trail along side of Vernal Fall is usually a drenching this early in June. However, due to the low snowpack, Vernal Fall is already cutting back its flow. Chipmonk intelligence reports indicate that there is not enough “mist” to worry about. So you can leave your ponchos and gaiters at home.

If you are near Livermore Tuesday night and are bored to tears, get out of the house and come by Sunrise Mountain Sports at 6 pm. I’m giving my Half Dome talk. Buy a kayak while there. And by the way, you can rent a kayak at Lake Del Valle on Wed from 4 pm for $20. Up to 3 hours. Paddles and life jackets included. Wow. A great cross training routine for Half Dome.

Unrelated thought worth quoting: Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away.
Now it looks as though they’re here to stay. Oh, I believe in yesterday.”
– The Beatles
