“Yosemite Renaissance” #30 art exhibit starts run this month

Big doings at the park for the culture minded visitor. A major exhibit at the Museum will feature finalists chosen from over 700 entries and includes 49 works in a variety of media. This  is the 30th year and the official name uses the Roman numerals. Since those get really hard to decipher after you get past XX, I just use the Arabic. Did you know the next Superbowl will be “50?” – not L!

Yosemite Renaissance is an annual competition/exhibition which is intended to encourage diverse artistic interpretations of Yosemite. Its goals are to bring together the works of serious contemporary artists; to establish a continuum with past artists; and to foster visual art as a major interpretive medium of the landscape and a stimulus to the protection of the environment.

Unrelated thought worth quoting: “What’s rubbish to you might be art to me.” – A wise old man.
