Yosemite post-Rim fire scenes

recov_rick313Yes, I know the fire is still going – 84% contained and the only fire still going is in the remote hilly, rocky slopes. Mop up operations are now running. Groveland and Buck Meadows are open for business.  Hwy 120 is open coast to coast.

The Half Dome cables come down October 14. I say go for it. No whining because you could not get a permit in the lottery or the 2-day mini lottery. The rock is there and asking for you. The days are getting shoerter and the nights will be getting colder. Headlamps are mandatory – it’s getting dark about 7 pm.  Take 2 vacation days – you know you want to.

The school bell is ringing. My webinar on the Clouds Rest hike is Thursday the 19th at noon pacific. There are still a few slots for the quick. But I have to have tome to get back to you with the link, so go here to read the rules.  I hope to see you there and share my experience.

Here are shots I took last week. Smokey Joe.
