Yosemite Institute Job Opening

Half Dome – Yosemite Musing

You have not landed on the Robert Half Job Placement Center site by mistake, but I have come upon yet another opening to get you out of the unemployment line.  This one is to be the new Director of the Yosemite Institute NatureBridge. This is a full-time position based in El Portal. NatureBridge is the largest residential educational partner of the National Park Service and alsooperates in Olympic National Park, in Golden Gate National Recreation Area and in the Santa Monica Mountains.  Each year, NatureBridge helps more than 40,000 people from ethnically and economically diverse backgrounds find a personal connection to nature through field science, youth leadership, and teacher training programs.

The Institute serves more than 14,000 students per year. The Director’s primary responsibilities will include strategic planning, partnerships, fundraising, and as the public face of the Institute. The Director is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the operations run smoothly and efficiently – reporting to NatureBridge’s Vice President of Operations. The list of qualifications is a mile long, but you can guess you have to have a ton of experience yada yada. The best thing is send them a letter explaining why your background fits their needs and include your salary expectations and an e-resume to: YosemiteDirector@NatureBridge.org. Now get with it and stop begging at street corners!

Unrelated thought worth quoting: Do not machine wash or tumble dry,  means I will never wash this, Ever.” – A wise old man
