Yosemite Indian Days August 2

Want to see a bit of the real Yosemite Heritage??  Native Americans lived on the land for centuries before the whites arrived. The Sierra Mono Museum works hard to preserve the past.

Yosemite Indian Days

Yosemite Indian Days

The annual Indian Fair Days and Pow Wow take place on Saturday, Aug. 2.  with a series of supportive events leading up to the big day. This genuine show of pride is truly a community event that promotes and instills pride in Native and non-native families.

The Pow Wow gives the younger generation a chance to dance and celebrate the rich traditional history and culture. The hoopla has been going on since 1971. It’s a fun day and a great way to connect with a culture that might be different than yours.

Some of the fun includes: Food & Native Craft Vendors, Native American Dancing, Cultural Awareness / Basket Demonstrations, and Raffles.
