For the 28th year running Yosemite is having an exhibit of 46 paintings, photographs, prints and sculptures by 41 artists. There were nearly 600 submitttals hopinhg to be chosen for the dislay that began Feb. 23 and runs through May 5. The event is held at the Yosemite Museum Gallery.
The idea of Yosemite Renaissance is to display works of contemporary artists highlight the need to protect the environment.
The competition will be judged by Hope Wellness, formerly of CSU, Stanislaus and Keith Walklet, a primo photographer. Contestants are vying for $4,000 in prizes
Yosemite Renaissance is funded by the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors, Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts and the National Park Service.
