Well, I’ve exhausted most of the things you might need for a Half Dome hike. You could add a decent, small backpack to carry these essentials. A suggestion is the Deuter Lite AC-18. It has a suspension system to keep your back cool. They sell for about $90.
I use a fanny pack, which is not mainstream, but it works for me. These are getting real hard to find with holsters for 1 quart bottles. The Mountainsmith Tour is a good one and North Face has a model that should work, but you need to poke around if you want to go fanny. About $50.
Lastly, let me suggest some items in my own Store. Do you have your “I made it to the top.” TShirt? I have 6 SMALL men’s left, then the factory shuts down. My design is 4-color, 2-sided and way better than the ones in the stores. It’s the only design that shows the cables – not just a silhouette of Half Dome.
I also have DVDs of a talk I give on the History of Half Dome. This was recorded in Groveland at the Southern Tuolumne County Historical Society.
Head’s up on on-line deals…check out Campmore’s “12 Days sale.”
