Half Dome – Yosemite Musing
The January – March issue of the Yosemite Gazette is out. Another “nearly priceless” issue. If you have not yet gotten yours, look around in the greater Yosemite Region. 10,000 copies are distributed free to spots in the Vegas – Tahoe – San Francisco triangle. I write a couple articles for them and I also get a giant box of them to put in venues in the San Jose-by-the-sea village. So when I hit an outfitter, library, coffee shop or such I stack several copies up for the patrons. It is a fun publication with tons of useful Yosemite historical and up-to-date info. My articles this time were about Half Dome vet and blog reader, Kathy Littrell, the hiking nun. I also did a story on the new Merced River Plan. I make up stuff for the Believe it or Not feature. Lotsa fun for us wanna be writers. The paper is the brainchild of Marv Dealy and comes out of the worldwide headquarters of Throckmorten Enterprise’s campus in Big Oak Flat. He has a ton of help from those who care about the region’s legacy. Check out the website for current and archive issues. <HERE> It lags the current issue a tad, so get your hard copy. If you want, I will mail you one – just email me and PayPal me $3.00 for postage and a giant envelope. You can subscribe and get your own bathroom reading material for just $30 a year. See the website.
