Whaazat? A developer has a dream of building a complex at the site of the old Jamestown Mine off Highway 108 near Sonora. A project application has been submitted the Community Resources at Tuolumne County. The new facility will be comprised of a couple dozen youth baseball fields, a bowling alley, a movie house, almost 2,000 hotel rooms, retail space, a focused town center, amphitheater, an assisted living center and an Alzheimer’s care unit. All this on about 800 acres. And if you like the look of Butchart Gardens on Victoria Island, BC, they hope to get approval to build a 65-acre site, with trees and foliage to marvel at.
