The Yosemite Conservancy just announced the installation and operation of a new webcam pointing at Yosemite Falls. So now you can look at the highest waterfall in North America and the 5th highest in the world anytime you want. The camera snaps a still shot every 3 minutes or so. We can take turns monitoring it for hats and cameras falling over the edge. Go <HERE> to see the image.
Opening Day 2011
So who has permits for May 25 – Opening Day at Half Dome? The countdown is a bit over 2 weeks. I hope yall trained. If you go, send us a summary of how it went. I wish you could ask two women who tried it – but they are dead. See the ACCIDENTS page. Nov 2006 – Emily Sandoval and April 2007 – Jennie Bettles. R.I.P.
Unrelated thought worth quoting: “Flew in from Miami Beach BOAC. Didn’t get to bed last night. On the way the paper bag was on my knee, man, I had a dreadful flight. I’m back in the USSR. You don’t know how lucky you are, boy. Back in the USSR.” – Beatles
