Yosemite Falls webcam in motion

Yosemite Falls

There’s lot of buzz about the webcam that is now active pointing at Yosemite Falls. Unless you have nothing to do, the image will look a lot like this photo. I took it the end of March. It shows the walkway from Northside Drive. I like it because it shows all 3 cascades. It’s the highest waterfall in North America and the 5th tallest in the world. #1 is “Salto Angel at 3212 feet.  The Upper Fall is 1430 feet; the Middle Cascades are 675 feet; and the lower fall is 320 feet. All three total 2425 feet. It’s huge.

The image on the webcam changes every 30 seconds but don’t expect a lot of action – kinda like watching your grass grow. To make it more exciting, I recommend going to this website to see a series of shots stitched together to make a video-like rendering.

Unrelated thought worth quoting: Who’s the black private eye that’s a sex machine to all the chicks? Shaft! You’re damn right. Who is the man that would risk his neck for his brother man? Shaft! Can ya dig it? Who’s the cat that won’t cop out, when there’s danger all about. Shaft! Right on.” – Isaac Hayes
