Yosemite / Half Dome bits and bytes

Decent show has fallen in the backcountry. The waterfalls are rushing again. Upper elevations got a decent drop of snow and the watershed is improving. Above 7500 feet the white stuff settled in.

Yosemite Falls – falling again

The top of Half Dome has snow but the valley is still sans.  The heavy rain is impacting the areas that were burned this and last summer. With little vegetation, mud is sliding down with flash floods happening.

YNP has been – and will be – in Anniversary mode. I think there are about 4 clustered around this half decade.  A new website was put together that you can survey.

Tree crews were cleaning up on Hwy 41, removing hazards between Mosquito creek chain control and Wawona. On Thursday, they’ll be at the South Entrance housing area.
