Yosemite Conservancy Spring Forum Registration

The Yosemite Conservancy formerly was comprised of the Yosemite Association and Yosemite Fund. They were merged last year to become YC. The annual Spring Forum is a major event drawing a few hundred members. It’s March 31 at the Valley Auditorium and runs all day. It is a VERY good event to attend. The Park Update talk by the Superintendent, Don Neubacher, is a great way keep abreast of happenings. The price of admission is $75 each – but it includes a copious sandwich. Oh well, you gotta pay to play.

Here is the link to see the agenda and to register.

I suggest you sign up early as slots for sessions go fast. I’ll be there. Here’s my choices if you want to join me:

Yosemite Conservancy continually asks me for handouts. Who would put me on their list? Curry Village, the National Park system itself?

      Munroe,

As the non-profit fund raiser for the park, YC can be aggresive in seeking donations. I’m not related to YC but you could contact them to remove your name from their solicitations. Phone: 800-469-7275 or 415-434-1782

wow, Ranger Rick, you must really rate!

I don’t have an email invitation from YC yet, and on their web page calendar under March 31 it just says ‘check back for more info.’

so I used your link to register; I’m looking forward to the Big Oak Flat Road trek with Ranger Dick Ewart. I’ve never hiked there, because in the summer I think it would be hot and dusty, so March seems perfect, and a good bet for some flowers if we ever get any rain.

dear blog readers, I think you have to be on their donor role to register, which I think is a minimum donation of $25.

I took his tour 2 yrs ago and then did the whole BOF road up to Tamarack Flat and back last year. Pretty neat. His trip is just the lower portion but you get to look back at El Cap and over to Bridalveil. Not too dusty and also I didn’t see a whole lot of flowers. Cool.

Good news for international blog readers/Yosemite fans:

After a long wait YC has started again to process international memberships (after the “merger” their website could only process US and Canadian residents). So sign up – it’s worth the money! 🙂
