Winter’s Coming to the Sierra

News

After a balmy fall, old man winter is heading to the high country. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Sierra Nevada from Sunday 11 pm through Tuesday 5 am above 5500 feet. The Big Oak Flat Road inside the park is above 6,000 ft so dig those chains out of the garage and practice putting them on. Only 7 more months until the cables are put back up. Sigh.

Get out of the house and come by Manteca’s BassPro store next Saturday.

Manteca Bookfest

I’ll be giving my History of Half Dome talk at 12:30 in the store’s Community Room (upstairs near shooting gallery). The Bookfest is a big deal – bring the kids.
