Half Dome – Yosemite Musing
In thanks for your loyal readership of this blog of information about Yosemite and Half Dome, I’d like to offer you a chance to win 4 permits to go up the cables on Saturday June 12. I have bona fide permits and will give them FREE to one of you. Participate only if you want to go that day.

Here’s the deal. You only have to answer one question.
1. Go to my website  and tell me where I will be speaking on April 22.
2. The first person to send me an email with the correct answer after 8:00 am Pacific time on Wed April 7 will get the permits. NO early responses accepted.
3. I will use the time tag on my email in-basket  to validate who made it in. Best time is 08:00:01.
4. You can take 3 others – but you cannot sell them or give them away.  We will coordinate for shipment to you.

Sound fun? Deal or no deal??

This contest is getting better by the post! Now…what was the question?

  2. andy says:

How about a room at the Ahwahnee?:-)

  3. Kathy Littrell says:

In that case – limo, lobster, massage (hope the massage is after HD), and gift bags, I’ll give up my reservations to Yellowstone to enter in this contest!!!!

  4. mrhalfdome says:

Of course…and a limo pick up, lobster dinner and massages. Don’t forget the celebrity gift bags and marching band greeting at SFO.

  5. BellaBike says:

Does this, by any chance, include airfare & lodging? I do so hate driving 8 days roundtrip for a weekend hike!

The process is in flux. When I got my permits on April 1, a new line was added to the confirmation email:

Tickets will be mailed to you (at least 14 days prior) to your scheduled arrival. Be sure to bring your tickets with you on the day of your hike; you must have this ticket when you ascend the cables.

Earlier information stated that you needed to print out page 1 of the confirmation email (with your name/number on it) and copy it for each person to serve as your “permit. I will mail the proper “permit” to anyone I give permits to.

The next blog will discuss this.

  7. Andy says:

Is the permit just the confirming email?
