Half Dome – Yosemite Musing
Get or Give permits<HERE>
On Monday last, I encountered the PSAR (Preventative Search and Rescue) folks just before the Happy Isles trailhead to Half Dome. They are there every permit day, early in the morning. Very useful. They have a few rangers and a large table with Half Dome info. They ask folks if they are hiking up to Half Dome and make suggestions as to gear, water, stamina, etc. They are trying to nip problems in the bud. Too many go up without a clue what they are in for. A tip of the hat to Joy Marschall and the PSAR team.
