Pony Expresso Cafe

Half Dome – Yosemite Musing

If you are heading to the park for your Half Dome hike, or returning via the Hwy 140 route through Mariposa (17 miles from the Arch Rock entrance) can I suggest you stop by a real nice coffee shop to “hit the head” or tank up with a fine caffeine brew? Or maybe a nice homemade sandwich, rather than the 700 calorie burger served just up the road. I speak of the Pony Expresso café in Mariposa. Owner Amy and the women there provide a ray of sunshine to your day. I had the BBQ sandwich. They also offer FREE wifi so you can catch up on your social networking (or blog writing).  The café is at 4996A 7th Street in the middle of downtown Mariposa (don’t blink). That’s just off the main drag on the east side. As a bonus, if you are near there on Aug 14, I will be giving my engrossing Half Dome in a Day talk in the back garden patio. We’ll probably use the wall of the cafe as a screen. Come by at 7 pm to hear “His master’s voice.”
Unrelated thought worth quoting: “His master’s voice.” – Marketing phrase featuring Nipper the dog trademarked since1899 and used primarily by RCA Corp.
