Plowing in Sierra full bore – but access to Yosemite from east limited

If you are heading to Yosemite from the east in the next few weeks, you will have a hard time.  ALL the major passes are still closed. CalTrans is working to clear the record snows, but it may not be unitl mid-June or even July until the passes are open.

Tioga Pass is being worked, but you’ll probably need to get on I-80 and go thru Sacramento and down 99 to 120 and go east into the park. This is a L O N G trip. You will get to  meet a lot of your friends whilst waiting in long lines to get into the park. Remember that the Big Oak Flat Road is still gnarled and slow going.

Check out this YouTube on the plowing of passes.

Unrelated thought worth quoting: “Gotta make a move to a town that’s right for me. Town to keep me movin’ – Keep me groovin’ with some energy. Well, I talk about it, talk about it, Talk about it….Talk about movin…Won’t you take me to Funkytown”  – Lipps, Inc.
