Plane missing in Yosemite

Kari Cobb of the Yosemite Public Affairs office indicated that a Mooney M20,  a small single engine propeller plane, with one person aboard, was lost on radar near the North Dome area. He took off near Santa Barbara on Monday about noon. The unidentified pilot was traveling from Santa Ynez to Mammoth Lakes. A search is being conducted off the Tioga pass area. All roads are closed and search operations are hampered by snow and weather in the area. A CHP helicopter is being used in the effort.
