Nothing of any real importance

Half Dome – Yosemite Musing
Spring is sprouting in the Bay Area. If you want to do a little hiking this Saturday, 3/13, a group of renegades is going to hike Mission Peak in Fremont. Join us. You’ll  get a good 4-hour, 2000 ft vertical work out. We meet at the Ohlone Deli. (43625 Mission Boulevard, 94539) We start walking at 9 am…followed by lunch at the Deli….no need to RSVP – we go with all that are there. It will be 65 degrees.  Look for the tall dude standing next to this plate.

Need a job? Get laid off from Berkeley or Stanford? The Yosemite Resources Management and Science Division, Branch of Vegetation and Ecological Restoration, has a temporary promotion to a position as a GS-401/1301-9 supervisory interdisciplinary biologist/physical scientist. Sound like you or your neighbor? The person in this position will serve as the restoration implementation coordinator and will supervise and lead several work crews. Excellent writing and oral communication skills are needed, as is the ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations while managing multiple concurrent projects.  The person in this position works with restoration ecologists, botanists, and invasive species botanists to coordinate schedules of project implementation. Projects include exotic plant control, mitigation of construction and infrastructure projects, and ecological restoration. Exotic plant control includes the use of power tools and herbicides.  Ecological restoration projects require some knowledge of the operation of heavy equipment.  Contact Judi Weaser at 209-379-3296, judi_weaser@nps.gov NLT Monday, March 15th.

Unrelated thought worth quoting: “Every morning about this time, she gets me out of my bed a-crying ‘Get a job.’ After breakfast, everyday, she throws the want ads right my way and never fails to say, ‘Get a job.’– The Silhouettes
