The meaning of Carpe Diem | Hike Half Dome in 20114

I hope yall notice that I often end my monologues with the phrase “Carpe Diem.”  Here is a good description of what it means. I found it on LinkedIn as a post by Bernard Marr

If you keep saying “someday I will hike Half Dome, – you won’t do it because “someday ” never comes. You will keep putting it off. Then in 2019, you say, you know, ONE day I want to hike Half Dome. another 5 years…..somedday. Well, someday never comes.

Do it now – Carpe Diem. You never know when a FED EX truck will jump lanes in a ball of fire and end your planning.

Smell the roses today – they may be wilted tomorrow.

Unrelated thought worth quoting: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” – Dr. Seuss
