All this week, the men and women of the non-profit Lasting Adventures Guide Service were at the Guide House in Groveland, CA for intense training to hone their skills for the 2013 season at Yosemite. Classroom and practical exercises in a variety of outdoor subjects were drilled. This ranged from fire building to food preparation to “Leave No Trace” instruction. The Guides lead groups of all ages on multi-day, full-day or half Day adventures in the park. I am working with them on our “Hike Half Dome with Mr Half Dome” offering. As a non-profit, Lasting Adventures is able to offer lower rates than other Guides supporting Yosemite.
Executive Director, Scott Gehrman said: “This is one of the best groups of experienced guides I’ve worked with. All are either Wilderness First Responder qualified or hold Wilderness First Aid certificates.”
The company has 5 Half Dome permits for hikes on 7/6, 7/8, 7/15, 7/19, 7/29, 8/16, 8/18, and 8/23. Contact them to sign-up.
