HOT – BOOK CURRY TENT CABINS N O W!!

Hear me now and listen to me later

If are planing to stay in a Curry Village Tent cabin this summer, I suggest you get on with it and book yours. I just got dates for all 5 summer months. Weekdays are already getting jammed. You’ve got about 2 weeks buffer until I predict Sat/Sun and holidays will all be gone; GONE!! A 4-person is running about $150 a night.

Curry Village - clean, cheap and no mice!

Curry Village – clean, cheap and no mice!

Don’t worry that you don’t know when you will get permits for Half Dome. You can always cancel up to 7 days in advance.  Call into the reservation line….much better help. The website is dorked up. It would not take my password – so I called.  801-559-5000

SAVE THE DATE: Dec 12 – the next webinar will be FREE – a Christmas gift to you. I will go over the Happy Isles to Glacier Point route. Some want to do Half Dome from Glacier – I’ll tell you about all about this, too. More info out soon. Watch this station!

Unrelated thought worth quoting: “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere I go.”

I love this hike, but I do it by getting a one-way ticket on the Glacier Point tour bus from the Valley; you can go one-way up to Glacier Point, but not one way down!

It’s not all down-hill; there’s a good bit of uphill to get up on the Panorama Trail.

If you do hike up the Mist and Panorama Trails, you’ll either need to have positioned a car shuttle or to come down the 4 Mile Trail to the Valley. (The El Cap shuttle bus stops there in high summer.)

The 4 Mile Trail up and back down to the Valley is another great hike. Great views of the cascades between Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls.

Interesting webinair Rick I did it the opposite way in August getting to Glacier Point by way of the splendid 4 Mile Trail.

I recall sitting at the bridge across Illiluette Creek and thinking it would be a tough day heading the other way, quite a climb but a grand day out I’m sure.
