Hiking is king even in cold Wisconsin

It’s fun to see what other hikers are up to across the country. Seems in Madison, Wisconsin, the state Dept of Natural Resources has some fun little trips lined up.

Coming this weekend are three candlelight hikes. First, is at the Blue Mound State Park which is going to host a ski-hike-snowshoe event  on Saturday evening. The Park will provide hot drinks, hot food, a bonfire and marshmallows for toasting. Then over at Harrington Beach State Park in nearby Belgium (no, not THAT Belgium) there will be a ski-hike outing that same night. Trails will be lit by hundreds of tiki torches. Cool. Finally, at the Mirror Lake State Park in Lake Delton they will also have a ski-hike-snowshoe event Saturday. After everyone gathers,  bonfires will be lit to warm participants.

Sounds fun to me. If any readers hail from those parts, please comment in with how it goes. For us West Coasters, check out the current temps in Madison.
