The Annual Anniversary Sale at REIs in the USA begins Thursday and runs 10 days. Some items are 30% off and members get a one-time, one-item 20% off any non-sale item. I got my flyer today and see some things you might want to get for your Half Dome hike: Water Filter, Zip off leg pants, Sleeping bag, Nalgene Bottles, Hiking poles, Headlamp, and Boots. Check.
Yosemite Nature Notes is the Yosemite on-line video series – there are now 17 stories. VERY well done.
Here’s a shot on top of Mission Peak Monday with my buds, Bill and Don.
It was beautiful, but there was a lot of trash up top. People – orange peels may be bio-degradable but in MONTHS. Pick up your garbage. There are trash cans just down the hill. If you’d like to join me for a National Trails Day hike up Mission Peak on June 2, we will be picking up trash on what is usually a clean trail. Go to my website link called simply National Trails Day. See their site also <HERE>.
Unrelated thought worth quoting: “Four young chiquitas in Omaha – waitin’ for the band to return from the show. A feelin’ good, feelin’ right and it’s Saturday night. The hotel detective, he was outta sight. Now these fine ladies, they had a plan, they was out to meet the boys in the band. They said, “Come on dudes, let’s get it on!” and we proceeded to tear that hotel down. We’re an American band!!!” – Grand Funk Railroad
