George Anderson Tribute hike.

Sunday Oct 12 is the George Anderson Tribute hike. Mission Peak, Fremont. Rain or snow, we go!

Train leaves the Ohlone Deli at 9 am sharp. 43625 Mission Blvd #101, Fremont. Do not go to the Stanford Ave entrance.  We go from Ohlone College up the backside.

Back about noon for a memorial sandwich. No RSVP – just be there if you are appreciative of what he did to allow us to enjoy Half Dome. Fellowship abounds.

George also built the Happy Isles trail we hike on….the state ran out of money, so he used his own. He planned to go up the left side. This is the only photo I’ve seen of him. Anyone else??

Thanks, George

Thanks, George

I didn’t know about the Happy Isles/Mist Trail connection.

I’m not sure what you mean by “go up the left side.” Is that a trail that would correspond to the current Mist Trail along Vernal Fall?
