Here is the 2013 schedule for free admission to Yosemite and any other National Park. The fun kicks off next week as we honor the memory of Martin Luther King, Jr. Be sure to bring your snow chains if you head up.

It’s amazing to me how these free entrance days bring people out.
You’d think that with the cost of gas, camping or lodging, etc, $20 (Yosemite) or $25 (many other parks, such as Yellowstone) would not be a major cost of the trip.
Rick, do you know what happens if you go in on a free day that’s not part of a free week and stay a few days? Do you have to pay on the way out?

Good question. I have never done that, but the deal is a free admission, so when you exit if you tell them you came in on a free day, I’m sure they’d honor it.
