Dramatic Yosemite Half Dome Fire photos

As of Tuesday, the fire in Yosemite that has closed Half Dome to both climbers and hikers has grown to nearly 3,000 acres. The trails to Half Dome and other nearby sites are closed. 11 aircraft are emplued and over 100 firefighters.

To help readers see what the Half Dome area is like pre-fire, watch this video. I recorded a fly over last year and you can see the dense forested area. This forest needed to have a controlled burn to remove the fuel.

Due to its accessibility from many vantage points visitors are posting photos of the blaze. the ones on Half Dome are awesome – thanks for sharing folks!
