Half Dome training | Time to get ready to hike | Happy Cinco de Mayo

So what have YOU been doing to get back into your summer shape? Going up Half Dome soon?  Hills, hills and more hills. Get the boots to work, practice using your hiking poles, and gofer it

While at Mission Peak in Fremont today, we met this mom and daughter heading up. It was the girl’s idea to bring a Mexican Flag up to the top and take some pix. Cool.

In the Mexican state of Puebla, the date is observed to commemorate the Mexican victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862,  Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day—the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico—which is celebrated on September 16.

A shout-out to all my Latino and Mexican friends.

This was my first time up this year…it was jammed. Folks – pick up your trash!!!
