On Thursday, April 25th at 7:30PM Conrad Anker, will be giving a free presentation on his 2012 Mt Everest Expedition. The talk will be at Sunrise Mountain Sports in Downtown Livermore Anker’s family operates the Priest Station Cafe, in Big Oak Flat, CA. That’s at the top of Old Priest Grade – on your way to Yosemite. Conrad Anker is one of the world’s preeminent mountaineers. His specialty is climbing the most technically challenging terrain in the world. This quest has taken him from the mountains of Alaska and Antarctica to the big walls of Patagonia and Baffin Island and the massive peaks of the Himalaya. In 1999, Conrad discovered the body of George Mallory on Mt. Everest, whose disappearance with his partner Sandy Irvine on a summit bid 1924 was one of climbing’s great mysteries.
He will arrive at 6 pm to chat with folks. Please sign-up in advance. Call Sunrise Mountain Sports at (925) 447-8330.
