Last chance to see the Ken Burns movie on Yosemite’s 150th Anniversary

The year is winding down and 2014 is the 150th Anniversary of the Yosemite Grant. I have worked with REI and Sports Basement to show it at five venues.

For East Bay readers, we’re doing it at the REI in Fremont on Nov 4. Then for our Peninsula friends we go the next night at REI San Carlos on Nov 5.

After the film, I will present my award-worth presentation of “The History of Half Dome” and answer all questions about the hike. We’re done for this summer, but the lottery is in March – 5 months away. I’ll share how to get one of those elusive permits.

Backstory  reading

You may want to sign up at REI since the previous showings were pretty full. You cannot buy the DVD anywhere but the Yosemite Conservancy stores in the park. It’s not on Amazon or on the YC website.

We roll the DVD at 7:02 sharp, so register at your favorite REI to ensure you get a seat. The previous shows were well attended.

See you soon.  Carpe Diem in the meantime.

Unrelated thought worth quoting: “Cause this is thriller, thriller night. And no one’s gonna save you from the beast about to strike.” – Michael Jackson
