shocked faceDid you comment on Yosemite raising fees? Comment NOW.

I’m bring this one back to the top because of the long term impact it will have. On Oct 21 I blogged about the park raising admission and camping rates.

The single vehicle entrance fee would change from $20 to $30. The park’s annual pass would increase from $40 to $60. They are proposing to raise camping fees from $6 to $24 per night for family sites and to $48 per night for group sites. READ THAT AGAIN. $24 to sleep on the ground?  You can get a motel 6 for that…with a TV…and a shower…and heat…and no bears.

I’ve only seen the early news on this, which was just a rehash of the YNP press release. Nothing else.  No one cares? Rubber stamp?  Did you send in a comment? – I did.

I’m sure the train is rolling on this, and plan on forking out more to get in soon.  But if you don’t participate and comment, then don’t bitch later.

The comment period ends TOMORROW (Nov 20) at 5 pm. Go to yose_planning@nps.gov

Unrelated thought worth quoting: Even Starbucks is raising prices.
